Hi guys
What’s happened to this forum? Have most people moved on, seems very quiet these days.

You don't pay - number of adverts prevents ANY sensible navigation on the forum. You pay £1.99 per month - you still get pestered to allow adverts. It's no longer a forum, just a money-grabbing clickbait.

I have cancelled my subscription a few days ago.

Lovely.. I have switched off the Adblock for a second:

I joined a month or so ago and used to read the site a lot a few years ago. There aren't many posts to comment on now it seems not many responders to posts as there used to be

Regarding ads….

I am a member of the partner electrician forum, and a subscriber…. The only ads I see there are the sponsors.

If you pay, and you’re still seeing a multitude of ads, then have a quick word with the forum owner, @Dan … as sometimes a software update screws around with the settings.

Yes there is a big difference between ads and no ads for even simple navigation.
I don’t think it should be this cluttered.

The ads are mental at the moment on all the forums. I've just turned off auto in-page ads which takes the google inserted ones away but reduces our income 70% for the day.

So I'll do some testing with this forum now google are changing things around a bit. Should have a new ad-platform soon too maybe as them outsourcing the job to ad agencies has turned into a filthy trade.

We have kept up with email related regulations and if a member had changed their email and not updated the forum for eg. Or we get bounced back emails from full inboxes or people who have clicked on spam, then their account gets put on hold for a couple of months with a message when they login explaining what to do.

Then their account gets erased.

You just needed let me know mate no ads should show for subscribed.

Yeah we still have some mint members. But the former staff were being a bit dodgy with homeowners. Often just trying to get a gas check paid for by GSR (corgi at the time). And often putting off people if they came for advice rather than ringing a plumber.

So if you were in with them it was a good place but if you were not then you found the place cliquey.

So we had to move on from them.

When I found out and questioned it they asked if they could still run it the same then. I said no way you're off. So they made their own forum. Think they're on member number 14 now after 10 years. 😆

So it must have been a while ago mate. And I hope not one of them sods comes back. But there were some mint members who just got mixed up in the hassle.
